Senior Games

March 17th the City of Tallahassee hosted the Senior Games and archery was one of the events. The shoot was held at the Beau Turner Youth Conservation Center. TBA was well represented with- several members placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their respective classes. The high score for the tournament was shot by Richard Mann but because he is not yet 50 he was not eligible to receive any awards. For the record he shot an 864 out of a possible 900 points. This event should be held next year so put it on your calendar. It really was a lot of fun.

March 24 shoot

Our next trophy shoot is scheduled for March 24th, 2012. If anyone is interested in helping set up the range please contact at 766-3410. We can always use extra hands.

Archery Demo Day

We have rescheduled the archery equipment demo day sponsored by Tallahassee Archery Center. The new date is April 14, 2012. TAC (Tallahassee Archery Center) will have most of the HOYT bows for 2012 available to try out along with lots of other archery items. If there is anything you would like to try call Richard Mann at 385 1323 and let him know. TAC will have a chronograph onsite, bow press and a draw board. Even if you don’t own a Hoyt bow, stop by and TAC will help you get sighted in or make timing adjustments at no charge. They will also be giving away a $50 gift certificate.

We have rescheduled the Professional Lessons with Curtis Beverly and Rob Smith for April 14th too. These guy’s were almost totally booked last time (when the weather forced us to cancel) but everyone will need to make new reservations. If you want to increase you skills for hunting or target archery then make you reservations now. Each lesson is one hour and the cost is $30.00. To reserve your space stop by Tallahassee Archery Center or call Mike Sasnett at 766-3410.

New Board Members

At the last club meeting we nominated new officers. Since there was no opposition the officers that were nominated automatically move into their positions beginning in April.

Your new Officers are as follows:

David Byler – President

Dale East – Vice President

Richard Mann – Treasurer

Betsy Sasnett – Secretary

Directors are Scott McNutt, Jeff Grantham and Mike Sasnett

If you have suggestions on ways we can improve our club then make plans to attend the next club meeting scheduled for April 10 at 6pm at the range. These meetings can be a little spirited but that is what a democracy is all about. If you want to discuss a particular item then be sure and email your new President at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. "> This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so he can add it to the agenda. The process is simple, we discuss any agenda item and if need be a motion is made to pass new policy. If the motion is seconded it is voted on by the members present. The motion will either pass or fail based on the vote. With the discussion for a name change coming up soon it is more important than ever that all members try to attend future meetings.
